As one of our country’s fastest growing cities, Charlotte’s economic growth stands out in the South. Mary believes that it is our responsibility to continue this upward trend by promoting entrepreneurs and small businesses, and by working to attract innovation-focused companies to Charlotte and to North Carolina.
District 88 enjoys the many benefits that thriving small businesses bring to a community. We need to invest in entrepreneurs who will continue strengthening the middle class by bringing new jobs and businesses to the region.
This year, the Brookings Institute found that if Charlotte wants to stay competitive in the global marketplace, we will need to focus on supporting and encouraging startups that power innovation. Smart policy decisions that foster an inclusive and business-friendly environment will appeal to innovation-focused companies whose success will help us all succeed.
